When a female bird is not interested in a male bird, she will make a fast song to protest against the male bird, and if a male bird plans to come close to the female bird to mate, the female bird will not respond to the male bird's request. When male birds reach sexual maturity, they pursue female birds they like. If the female birds do not like him, they will make frequent clucking noises to express their protest. If a male tries to mate with a female, she won't respond.
If a keeper keeps them in a cage, the mother may keep moving away from the male and, if she is more irritable, may keep pecking at the male. On the other hand, if a female bird is attracted to a male, they will approach and breed.
